The general CRRC field rules are in place to promote safety and common courtesy.
- All CRRC members must be active AMA members and must be able to show a current membership card when asked.
- All aircraft will be labeled with owner's AMA number, name, address, and telephone number
- Un-sportsmanlike conduct and abusive language will not be allowed.
- Frequency pins must be placed on the frequency board at all times. Those flying on 2.4 GHz are stongly encouraged to help identify who is in the air.
- The use of proper antenna flag for frequency identity is strongly recommended; Red for 72 MHz, Yellow for 27 MHz, and Black for 6M Band.
- Pilots must always check the frequency board before turning on their transmitter to ensure their channel is not in use.
- Any new, crashed, or repaired aircraft must be properly inspected to determine its airworthiness before takeoff.
- Radio range checks and aircraft pre-flight checks are stongly encouraged.
- Pilots must not occupy a frequency for more than fifteen (15) minutes if more than one transmitter is on that given frequency and the other pilot is waiting to fly.
- No model aircraft may be flown in a dangerous or careless manner
- Flying over pits and/or parking areas at low altitudes is prohibited. Gliders at high altitude are excempt.
- All non-flyers must remain behind the pit area.
- When flying on open fields think __"Safety"__ - be aware, notice what others are doing and where they are. When applicable, watch out for the other users of the field such as dog walkers, joggers, etc.
- During flight, proper communication should prevail. Common broadcast notifications should include:
- Is it OK to take off?
- Launching or Taking off
- Landing from left-to-right or right-to-left. On an open field specify the area where you will land.
- Dead-stick or Pop-off
- Low pass left-to-right or right-to-left
- High speed pass from left-to-right or right-to-left
- On the field
- Off the field or Clear
- Any other phrases that identify your intensions
- All powered aircraft, fuel or electric, must be equipped with a spinner or AMA approved prop nut.
- For fuel powered planes:
- All internal combustion engines must be equipped with mufflers that meet the CRRC noise criteria.
- A fuel recovery system should be used when fueling your plane.
- Violation of safety rules, flying codes, etc. should be referred to the Safety Officer and/or the Board of Directors of CRRC. Violation of the CRRC rules can result in loss of the CRRC membership and flying privileges.
